As per the local industries scenario and to cope up with the demand of technically
qualified manpower, ITI has introduced different types of courses under NCVT,
DGT (Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship), Sector Skill Council
and Smart Goal courses.
The structure of the training program has been converted into a semester system
in place of long-term training w.e.f August 2013. Courses are designed to impart
basic skills and knowledge to prepare trainees for employment or self-employment.
70% of the training period is allotted to practical training and the rest to theory,
workshop calculation & science, and engineering drawing. Emphasis is on skill
development.
For overall personality development, “Employability Skills” have been introduced
covering IT literacy, English, safety, quality tools, communication skills,
entrepreneurship, environment education and labour welfare legislation.
